Warranty Details

New Computers

All brand new computers purchased from PC Guy come with a 1 year onsite hardware warranty. Occasionally we may need to collect and return the PC to you.

We specialise in building high quality computers, but unfortunately sometimes the occasional problem can arise with the hardware. If you have a problem within the first year then please get in touch with PC Guy. We will visit you onsite if you are located locally and investigate the problem. Should the hardware be found faulty we will replace the defective part.

Please note that the warranty does not cover damage caused by the user, accidental damage within the home and work place such as spillages, power surges, flooding etc and does not cover modifications to the system. PC Guy holds no responsibility for loss of data if a hard drive for example fails. It's recommended that all data is backed up regularly. The warranty does not cover any software errors such as virus', malware, corrupt windows etc. If upon investigation we establish that the system has encountered damage or software problems then we reserve the right to charge for the time taken to fix the problem.

Refurbished computers and laptops

Unless otherwise mentioned all refurbished laptops and computers are sold with a 60 day warranty covering hardware only (this excludes laptop batteries). All refurbished systems are fully tested before sale, however hardware can fail at any time.

If within this 60 day period a problem arises, then the computer or laptop should be returned to PC Guy for inspection, or if local we may be able to arrange a collection. During the warranty period, PC Guy will, at its discretion, repair or replace any defective component. If PC Guy is unable to provide a repair or replacement you will be offered a refund. This sometimes happen due to the age of the refurbished laptop or computer and the availability of parts.

The warranty does not cover any software errors. If upon investigation we establish that the system has encountered damage or software problems then you will be charged for the time taken to fix the problem.

Should you need to send the laptop or computer back to us, we strongly suggest that you make sure you have used sufficient packaging to protect your product and insure against damage before returning any product for repair, as PC Guy is not liable for any transit damage that may occur on any product you have returned to us for repair. Before returning an item you must email PC Guy at info@ellesmereportpcguy.co.uk to log your intention to return an item.

If a refurbished laptop or computer is sold with an existing manufacturers warranty, then any problems should be referred to the manufacturer, not PC Guy.
